20th annual Burn Run 2010 – June 19

Saturday, June 19, marks the 20th year of the San Diego Burn Institute’s
Annual Burn Run. At approximately 10:45 a.m., a procession of fire engines, with “lights and
sirens,” coming from Imperial Beach, will travel up Orange Avenue and make a brief stop at the
Fire Department Headquarters. Members of the Coronado Firefighters’ Association will take
this opportunity to present, to the San Diego Burn Institute, funds that were raised throughout the
year from events such as the Boot Drive and annual Spaghetti Dinner. The parade of vehicles
will then travel over the San Diego-Coronado Bridge to their next destination where they will
pick up additional funds and additional fire apparatus. At approximately 1 p.m., this procession
of nearly 100 fire apparatus from San Diego and Imperial County fire departments will arrive at
the Del Mar Fairgrounds for their annual Fire Expo.
