The annual CHS Band/Choir Boosters dinner and silent auction is Friday, March 5th from 5-8 pm at Coronado Middle School, 550 F Avenue. There will be many auction items from local businesses. Adult tickets are $10 and student/child tickets are $5. Tickets are available from any CMS and CHS band or choir student or at the door.

Mr. Bill Petersen celebrates 94 years young on 28 February, 2010.

Bill Petersen had the Golden Rule Society’s Wings pinned on his favorite baseball cap to mark his 94th birthday. Len “Ski” Kaine, founder and president of the Golden Rule Society (GRS) was honored to make the presentation. Kaine thanked Bill for
dedicating his lifetime to living the Golden Rule, that is treating people the way we all want to be treated…truthfully with dignity and respect. Bill continues to be a model of the GRS philosophy…”To better the lives of others is your life’s greatest reward.” Bill’s daughter Deanna and her husband Gayle are Bill’s biggest fans for all the kindness Bill continues to share with his Coronado neighbors. “We’re all blessed to have Bill as a member of our home town community, because we all need more people like Bill Petersen in our lives” added Kaine.

Coronado Golf Course Tee Times

After a five-month trial of distributing tee times seven days in advance instead of two, the Coronado Municipal Golf Course is going back to its former system. Beginning Monday, March 1, golfers will be able to make tee-time reservations two days in advance. The in-person lottery will be conducted from 6 a.m. to 8:59 …a.m. Phone reservations begin at 9 a.m. http://bit.ly/bU727c

Coronado Junior Woman’s Club Golden Jubilee – March 6

This year celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Coronado Chamber of Commerce’s Salute to the Military. Held in the Hotel del Coronado Grand Ballroom, this gala honors local servicemen and women from Naval Base Coronado. This year will pay special tribute to POWs joining in the evening’s events.
