City of Coronado Appoints Retired Rear Admiral Louis M. Smith as new Port Commissioner

Coronado, CA (November 6, 2009) – Following a thorough selection process, at the November 2 City Council meeting the Council unanimously appointed retired Rear Admiral Louis M. Smith as Coronado’s representative on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Unified Port District. Smith’s term will begin on January 3, 2010. He is replacing retired Vice Admiral Robert Spane who has served as the City’s Port Commissioner since 2002.
