Coronado Resident Moki Martin receives the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with a combat “V” for valor

Retired Navy SEAL and Coronado resident, Philip “Moki” Martin received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with a Combat “V” for Valor yesterday at the Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado. As family, friends, and former platoon members looked on, Martin was presented with the award by Admiral Joseph Kernan, Commander Naval Special Warfare Command. The long-delayed award was for an operation that took place during the Vietnam war.
