Old Rails from Coronado Railroad Company removed
March 7th, 2009 Posted in City of Coronado
The construction project down on Strand Way is moving forward. The intersection at Strand Way and SR 75 was closed for several days while the contractor removed sections of pavement containing rails from the historic Coronado Railroad Company established in 1888. These rails were salvaged and have been stored for possible later use with a display of a restored passenger car used in Coronado.
The park next to the Coronado Yacht Club is nearing completion. A sail sculpture by Jon Koehler will be installed in the park after landscaping is completed around the base.
The Glorietta Bay Marina building construction is moving along further down Strand Way. Public art is being installed at strategic in teh new construction. When all the construction is completed, Glorietta Bay’s waterfront will be an extraordinary scenic pathway along the bay.
