Orange Avenue Median Deodar Cedar Trees

February 20th, 2010 Posted in City of Coronado

City of Coronado Staff has evaluated the browning Deodar Cedar trees along the Orange Avenue median, and believe that the condition is due to the high wind conditions experienced during the storms in January, which carried traces of salt.
Vegetation in other areas of the City, including along Ocean Boulevard and in Glorietta Bay Park, has also suffered this damage. It is expected that the Deodar Cedar trees should recover from this; however, staff will continue to evaluate them to determine whether there are other factors at work.
