Canary Island Palms

October 10, 2017

Canary Island Palms aka Phoenix canariensis thrive all over Coronado.  Some of these iconic trees were planted over 100 years ago.  Growing up to a height of 60 feet, with a canopy of up to 40 feet wide, these trees command attention!   In the early years of Coronado, they were planted regularly in gardens.  With our density issues now, they are rarely considered by landscapers, so the palms you see should be appreciated for their iconic presence.
