San Diego is the homeport to the Navy’s Pacific Fleet. Year round recreational opportunities abound at one of the world’s largest concentrations of military personnel and services. The variety of Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs will launch quality of life adventures.
 
Sand Dollar is located just inside the main gate at NAS North Island in the racquet ball courts, across from the commissary and NEX. Run by the Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club of San Diego (NOSC), the shop sells high quality, unique, hard to find items. This private, non-profit organization is devoted to the support of military service personnel and their family members throughout San Diego County by raising money to sponsor scholarships and provide monetary support to various charities that support our local military families.   Tel: 619 437-7953
  Armed Forces YMCA – San Diego

For 90 years, the San Diego Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) has worked to improve the lives of our local junior enlisted service members and their families in mind, body, and spirit by providing free programs and services relevant to the unique challenges of military life.  It is through strong community support that we are able to work to improve the quality of life for our dedicated local service members and their families.

Spirit of AmericaWe provide whatever our troops need to help the local people: sewing machines, blankets, tools, school supplies and more. This builds goodwill and helps people in need. It makes our troops safer and more successful in their mission.

 Navy SEAL FoundationThe Navy SEAL Foundation’s mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.

Established to serve U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, Naval Special Warfare (NSW) support personnel, and their families, the Navy SEAL Foundation offers critical support to Naval Special Warfare commands, active-duty personnel, their families, and veterans of NSW. As the duration and frequency of training and operational deployments continue, and the stress on the families and operators grows, this important community requires support today more than ever.
  TAPSTAPS is the 24/7 tragedy assistance resource for ANYONE who has suffered the loss of a military loved one, regardless of the relationship to the deceased or the circumstance of the death.
 
 Navy-Marine Corps Relief SocietyThe mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.
Intrepid Fallen Heroes FundThe Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves United States military personnel wounded or injured in service to our nation, and their families. Supporting these heroes helps repay the debt all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made in service to our nation. They are, in the words of our founder, the late Zachary Fisher, “our nation’s greatest national resource,” and they deserve all the help that our nation can provide.
Fisher House The Fisher HouseBecause members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates “comfort homes,” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times – during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
  U.S. Veterans InitiativeU.S.VETS provides comprehensive services to the veterans we serve, including case management, employment assistance, job placement, counseling, as well as drug and alcohol free housing. At our facilities veterans progress through a seamless continuum of services designed to help them increase their level of responsibility and prepare them to live independently in the community.
  Semper Fi FundThe Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit set up to provide immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The Semper Fi Fund (SFF) provides relief for financial needs that arise during hospitalization and recovery as well as assistance for those with perpetuating needs. Our program provides support in a variety of ways including: Service Member and Family Support, Specialized & Adaptive Equipment, Adaptive Housing, Adaptive Transportation, Education and Career Transition Assistance, Therapeutic Arts and Team Semper Fi.
