The U.S. Navy has announced the appointment of Coronado resident Susan Keith as the sponsor of the new littoral combat ship, USS Coronado, named in behalf of the community. Susan Keith, a former councilmember, comes from a extensive family background of service and leadership in the U.S. Navy. Additionally, Ms. Keith’s appointment follows family tradition as her mother was the sponsor of the previous USS Coronado.
