Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, has nominated 42 CAPT in the Navy to Rear Admiral it was announced this week. Among the candidates are some familiar names in Coronado including:

Anthony E. Gaiani, commanding officer, Naval Base Coronado, San Diego
Peter A. Gumataotao, chief of staff, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego
Michael C. Manazir, commanding officer, aircraft carrier Nimitz, San Diego
William G. Sizemore II, chief of staff, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego
